The Philosophy of Steady, Scalable Business Growth
At Little by Little Solutions, we believe strong businesses are built on structure, clarity, and disciplined systems. Growth without infrastructure creates confusion, financial blind spots, and operational friction that eventually slows a business down.
Our work focuses on bringing order to that chaos.
We step in to untangle financial records, restore audit-ready books, strengthen operational workflows, and build the systems that allow businesses to function smoothly as they grow.
From financial cleanup and reporting to workforce structure, internal controls, and regulatory coordination, we help business owners put the right foundation in place.
Little by little, those systems begin to work together. Owners gain clear financial visibility, teams operate more efficiently, and businesses are able to scale without losing control of their operations.
At Little by Little Solutions, our role is simple: bring clarity, build structure, and help business owners create companies that run smoothly long after the initial cleanup is complete.
The Foundation of Our Approach
The work we do at Little by Little Solutions is rooted in a simple principle found in Proverbs 13:11:
“Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.”
Lasting success is not built through shortcuts or quick fixes. Strong businesses are built deliberately, with careful stewardship, disciplined systems, and steady progress over time. Our role is to help business owners put the right structure in place so their companies can grow on a firm and dependable foundation.
Little by little, clarity replaces confusion, systems replace chaos, and businesses gain the stability they need to grow with confidence.
Strong foundations are built through practical work. We provide actionable guidance and implement functional systems that support your business rather than slow it down. From financial organization to operational workflows, our hands-on approach resolves bottlenecks and helps businesses move from reactive problem-solving to steady, reliable operations.
Practical Solutions
Sustainable growth requires more than solving today’s problems. We help business owners step back from daily pressures to make thoughtful decisions about structure, financial health, and long-term direction so their businesses can grow wisely and sustainably.

"Order, clarity, and strong systems are not created overnight. They are built intentionally and deliberately, with structure and steady progress, little by little."
"Cleanups are a marathon, not a sprint."
"God is using me to create spaces that allow mothers and fathers to be present in their children's lives, and that is worth it's weight in gold"
"Overwhelm is normal when building or scaling a business, alone...but it doesn't have to be."
"If I had a dollar for every time someone told me I was smart because I solved their problem, I'd be rich. But the truth of the matter is, it's just because I've already made that mistake."
Meet the Founder
Lisa Martinez-Heitman’s entrepreneurial journey began long before she formally launched Little by Little Solutions.
Growing up in a large Hispanic family where weekends meant cousins everywhere, backyard barbecues, and a house full of activity, Lisa discovered early that she had a knack for business. While the adults gathered and the kids ran wild, she quietly began running errands for her grandfather, father, uncles, and cousins for pocket change. Those quarters and fifty-cent payments became the seed money for her first venture.
By the third grade, Lisa was buying embroidery thread at the local flea market, creating friendship bracelets, and taking custom orders from classmates at school. What started as a childhood hustle quickly became a pattern. Over the years she continually found ways to turn initiative into opportunity.
That entrepreneurial instinct followed her into the workforce. While working at McDonald’s as a teenager, a regional manager recognized her aptitude for business operations and recommended her to the owner to help with back-office work. That opportunity introduced Lisa to accounting and general ledgers the old-fashioned way, working directly with handwritten financial books.
From there, every role she held built deeper experience in business operations, accounting, and organizational systems across multiple industries. Eventually she joined the University of Houston, where she worked in grant accounting and business administration before rising through the ranks to become Deputy Director of the Small Business Development Center office, that helps entrepreneurs start and grow their companies.
Throughout those years, Lisa never stopped building side businesses of her own. She worked as an independent licensed nail technician for more than two decades, represented brands such as Creating Memories™, Leaving Prints™, Stampin’ Up!®, and Tastefully Simple®, operated a baking business and Little by Little Dollhouse Miniatures, and remained deeply involved in community leadership and volunteer work.
Lisa was never content to simply participate in a business. She wanted to understand it from the inside out. Whether managing finances, serving customers, or learning the operational details that make a business work, she consistently immersed herself in every aspect of the ventures she touched. Entrepreneurship was never just a job for Lisa. It has been a constant thread running throughout her life.
After retiring from the university, Lisa initially spent several months running a hobby business focused on dollhouse miniatures. But it didn’t take long before she realized she missed the complexity and challenge of solving real business problems. When she accepted what was intended to be a small part-time HR role, she discovered a company struggling under the weight of $5.6 million in past-due receivables and severely disorganized financial records. What began as a temporary project became a full-scale financial cleanup that lasted nearly two years. Lisa worked to untangle the records, restore order to the books, and bring clarity to the company’s financial position. Word spread. Friends and local business owners began reaching out for help with their own books and operational challenges.
Little by little, those projects grew into what is now Little by Little Solutions, LLC.
What began as a one-person consulting effort quickly expanded into a growing team supporting businesses across multiple industries. Today, Lisa and her team specialize in financial cleanup, operational systems, compliance support, and strategic business guidance for companies that need structure, clarity, and sustainable growth.
For Lisa, the work is more than accounting or consulting. It is the continuation of a lifelong calling to build, organize, and strengthen businesses.
And just like the principle behind the company’s name suggests, the most lasting success is built little by little.
